Web Site Image Revisited

December 14th, 2005 by Rick

I never did fix the image after my last post. I finally did it today, but now I’m not sure I like it. I will probably change it later.

I really have to do something about that stupid coffee cup image at the top of the page. I think maybe I’ll work on that today.

I posted some pics from the SEMA show to my personal site. I figure they might be of interest to anyone reading this. Gallery is here.

No Progress

August 31st, 2005 by Rick

I just wanted to post to let everyone know I haven’t forgotten to post and haven’t abandoned the project. I have too many projects going right now and I’m trying to thin the herd. I’ve spent the last couple of weeks getting my 86 GT (the one that donated the body to this car) running and driveable so I can sell it. I only have a few minor things to do to it now, then I will focus on one of my other projects. I have the Franken Fiero and my Harley to work on. Not sure which I will do but I will probably focus on one of those until it is done. It will probably be the Harley since I am still waiting on someone for the Fiero upholstery. That should only take a week out of my time though, then I’ll be back on the FranenFormula full swing.

Misc. Junk

May 5th, 2005 by Rick

I’ve done a lot of little things over the last few days. I cleaned out the garage and moved the car in there so I can work at night. I stole the battery out of my other Fiero to put in this one because this one was completely dead. In the process I burned a hole in my jeans with battery acid. Way to go moron. I also bolted down my loose body panels, though some will need more bolts or rivets later.

I put a seat and the old gauge pod back in and took her for a ride last night. She’s been sitting for quite some time now so I wanted to get the fluids moving. I put some fuel treatment in but never ran it to get it into the fuel lines so I wanted to do that too. It started off idling real high but that went away after a couple of minutes. The temp. warning light came on, thankfully just as I was pulling up to the house. I had disconnected the temp sender the night before so I don’t know how hot it got. I was going to connect it real quick so I could see where the gauge was at, but wouldn’t you know it, the connector was sitting on the exhaust and melted. I’m on a role. I’m assuming the thermostat is stuck because it never ran hot before.

Knotts Berry Farm

April 29th, 2005 by Rick

We went to the Knotts Berry Farm show last weekend. It was great. We saw a lot of familiar faces. And a lot of cool cars. There were several Diablos there which is really cool, I think a few years ago there wasn’t a single one. There was also a couple of really nice highly customized Diablo kits on display. One is the Chameleon Diablo that has been touring the shows for a couple of years now. The other was built by the same builder and is called “Stalker”. It is a three seater, the driver sits in the middle. Very cool. It is pictured below. There are many more pics of it, and all the other beautiful cars at http://kitkar.com/xoops/gallery.php?gallery=kbf2005

Update

April 29th, 2005 by Rick

I haven’t done anything since my last post. Between going to the Knotts Berry Farm show and working on my damn bike I haven’t had time. Speaking of Knotts, I’ll have to post something about the show. Anyway, I’m done with my bike for now. I’ve done all I can do and I think I will bring it to the dealership and have them look at it. I took tonight off to relax. I played video games, watched TV and relaxed. THAT’S IT! And it felt good. Tomorrow I’ll have to get back to working on the car. I’ve also been avoiding working on the interior because I am terrified of doing the sewing.

Carlisle

April 21st, 2005 by Rick

There is the possibility that we will drive the car to Carlisle PA. We did it last year and my wife hated it. She really doesn’t want to drive. We will be there one way or another, either drive and attend as a vendor or fly and attend as a spectator. We’ve been to the Carlisle show every year for the last five years. Last year we were vendors. I’d love to show off my interior at the show and hopefully get some sales but I’m not going to kill myself trying to get it done in time. I’m also not sure I can afford the week off. It’s about a three day drive each way.

Knotts Berry Farm

I’ve accepted that I’m not going to get this done in time for Knotts. I also decided that I’m not going to rush things so I can drive it there either. We’ve decided that we will just rent a car. I figure I can rent a car and it will still cost less than driving my gas guzzling truck. I can’t wait for the show. We are leaving Friday morning. I’ve been to this show every year for the last five years, except 2001 we didn’t make it.

Categories

I just added a category list to the menu on the left. That way if you don’t want to read useless posts like this you can read about one specific category. You’ll notice there are absolutely no posts under Performance. That’s just sad. I’m going to have to do something about that eventually. I’m thinking Northstar. Maybe that can be next winters project.
